Job Description
Keep abreast of all regulatory changes impacting the Bank’s operation and ensure continued compliance as laws change
Identification, assessment and provision of advice on regulatory needs and risks in relation to establishment of bank operations, development of bank products and marketing and delivery of such products
Implementation of actions resulting from regulatory reviews.
Implementation of the Group Compliance Risk Management Framework.
Responsible for implementation of Group Operational Risk Policy requirements, including implementing appropriate business continuity, fraud & security risk management and delegations of authority frameworks. Develop an appropriate corporate governance structure (management committees) including secretarial functions (committee charters, meeting schedule, agenda & minutes)
To ensure that the Bank complies with all regulatory, tax and statutory reporting, i.e: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual requirements
To ensure accuracy & timeliness of tax calculations; fully compliance to all tax requirements whilst also managing tax liabilities as they fall due
To review key financial ratio compliance to regulatory and/or internal policies; and escalate to management if necessary
To ensure all reports are accurate, within prescribed timelines and that minimal penalty charges by tax and/or central bank regulators are incurred
Undertake periodic reviews of the activities and processes to ensure operational integrity and full reconciliation to the general ledger and other financial reporting systems.
To enhance the relationship with the State Bank of Vietnam / Tax Officer for both financial and compliance issues and insight into proposed tax/ regulation amendments.
Provide advice and guidance in relation to the introduction of new products and services by the Vietnam branch through the consideration of both local regulations and tax implications plus any other statutory considerations that may be relevant.
Developing policies and procedures for local staff, including adapting existing Group policies.
Periodic reporting to IFS Head Office as appropriate.
Deliver induction/ongoing compliance and risk training to local staff
Job requirement
Professional account qualification - eg., CPA
10 years post qualified experience in a Finance, Control or other Analytical area within a financial institution
Experience with managing relationships with local regulators
Strong understanding of financial products
Analytical ability using standard and bespoke tools, plus a track record of formulating and presenting financial and operational solutions
